Wood Flutes - Two Double Sparrow Hawk in A
With a double flute you play the melody on one side and the other side provides the drone in the root note of the flute - it sounds like two people are playing. Double flutes have a double mouthpiece so you can switch from a double flute to a single flute instantly without adjustments. Our style is unique and generates more amplitude (volume) and the drone plays the low and high octaves easily.

Wood Flutes - Triple Flute in A
This flute is extremely versatile, the left drone plays the root note of "A", the center plays the melody & the right drone has the option of playing one of three notes. This is controlled by which fingering holes are covered with the leather ties that are provided. The flute has three mouthpieces so it can be played single, double or triple. These instruments are recommended for experienced flute players.

The Kestrels in the various keys are wonderful for playing along with one of our larger flutes in D, E and F#. The Kestrel in the key of "high D" is two octaves higher than the Condor Bass D flute, but it still has a sweet voice and is a terrific pocket flute. The Kestrel in E is a good companion to tthe Condor Bass in E. The Kestrel in F# plays along in key with the deeper Golden Eagle in F#.15" long.

Wood Flutes - Crow in "A, G and F" Ebonized
The Crow flutes are inlayed with turquoise cabochons and are walnut that is Ebonized. This is a process used in the early 1900. Even though the wood was already rare and costly, Ebony furniture was popular at that time. To compensate for that, wood workers developed a dyeing process called Ebonizing. Unlike a stain, the dyeing process penetrates the wood fiber deeply simulating the black texture of Ebony. Walnut is ideal for this process because it has a dark brown grain that streaks through the black dye giving it a similar look to Ebony. This process does not change the sound quality of the wood. These flutes sound like the walnut versions of the Sparrow Hawk, Golden Eagle and Redtail Hawk flutes. The Crow flutes are available in the keys of A, G and F# - please make a selection from the pulldown menu and note the price differences:

The Condor Bass has a deep & resonant full voice. This model is in Cedar but you can scroll down the page to see versions in Walnut and with Turquoise inlays. These are six-hole flutes with a leather tie to cover the third hole from the top so you can play it as a five-hole flute. The D Condor Bass has a large hole pattern and is recommended for experienced players who are accustomed to a larger finger spread.
